6. Heaven is Cold
(J. Jayle)
Cover him in kisses
As he sits behind the wheel
As his brakes slip and squeal
As he hits the windshield
As his skin cuts and peels
Keep covering him in kisses
Did you sleep like a rock
In the gravel parking lot
Did you hit your head on the way down
Just tell me to shut up
If you can't even get up
And if we're dead, heaven is cold
I don't need to breathe in here
Put that tape on my busted mouth
In the trunk of this tiny car
Did you loses like I lost
Did it help that I never fought
And if we're dead, heaven is cold
Face flat on the kitchen floor
Don't worry I won't make a sound
Did you loses like I lost
Did it help that I never fought
And if we're dead, heaven is cold
But I could be wrong

Fantastic album. Very reminiscent of 90s slowcore with an even more beautiful and dark edge. It's hard to find music like this nowadays but I'm very pleased to have found it. Jesse Mullen

I love the light and shade between Bryan's dirty and Emma's forlorn vocals. There are so many layers to this recording that are driven home through contrast. Plus the riffs are brilliant and get me moving. I can't stop listening to Thou and Emma in general lately. spaceman2250
